Last week I covered mostly I covered mostly business skills in the link roundup, this week it’s a bit more techy! I discovered a couple of really great sites since last time which I’ve listed below. I’m trying to keep these link roundups short and too the point each week – quality rather than quantity and all that.
- TextMate — The Missing Editor for Mac OS X
Fantastically simple code editor for Mac – EXACTLY what I was looking for after becoming extremely tired of all the alternatives which try to do too much. - Panic – Transmit 3 – The next-generation Mac OS X FTP client!
Supremely fast and easy to use FTP client that integrates perfectly with TextMate! - Code Like I Do
Nice set of files to replace the default icons on TextMate and make it a whole lot prettier. - Small Business Website Usage Statistics
Useful article that could come in handy when pitching to brand new clients or to use for marketing purposes. - Wordle – Beautiful Word Clouds
Not business related (could be at a push) but an awsome little app to visualise word clouds in a ‘pretty’ way. - 999 Business Ideas
Great list put together by some MBA students, a lot of really good and few really bad ideas in there.
Twitter Friends
Just like last week I’ve got some more great people to follow on Twitter, who are almost always happy to reply to your tweets and give you help and advice when you ask for it.

Show’s over! See you in 7 sunsets.

I’m going to have to get me a Mac just so I can use all this awesome software you keep mentioning… would love to have entered the LittleSnapper comp!
Maybe I can do the “sponsor me for a Mac, and I’ll etch your logo on it” trick that someone did a while back ;)
Hamster burial kits…seriously? The other ideas were passable though. Good set of links John.

Thanks for the link love. TextMate is a fantastic tool – when I first saw what it could do, my jaw was on the floor. If you’ve just started using it, explore what you can do using the HTML Bundle (in the Bundles menu). Option-Command full stop to close HTML tags is one of my fave shortcuts. Ever.
If you havn’t seen it already, Alex Payne has written about how he uses TextMate, that has some pretty cool tips. All I need to do now is get around to trying them out…

Brilliant info John thank you so much! I didn’t know about that shortcut either, it’s GENIUS!
I just recently switched to Komodo Edit as my IDE… but after reading Alex’s article, maybe I’ll check out TextMate :)
You’ll need a Mac Japh! :P
Damn… alright then, who’s gonna sponsor me? ;)
