I also work long hours but it all starts at 5.00 am and runs out of steam at about 7.00 pm (middle age makes early mornings much easier) - keep up the blog, it's one of the best I've read for some time. Refreshingly interesting and honest content is so nice to read.

My morning's 8:30 and 9:30 are exactly the same. My iPhone alarm has let me down horribly time and time again. Certain calendar events or text messages seem to land on top of the alarm function and until they're cleared, the alarm doesn't trigger. This is how I discovered Alarm Clock 2. Hopefully you are conservative about adding feeds to your reader and Twitter contacts. They're a real time-sucker in the morning ;)

I imagine my freelance day would work similarly to yours, though possibly shuffled around a bit, as a lot of my contacts don't live in my country!

Being in Australia tends to mean I see you UK folk (and similarly, US folk) in the morning, and again in the evening.

Works out well though, if you ask me. I mean, you ask me to do something at the end of your day, and the next morning it's done! ;)

I'd be interested to see if your day has changed much in another 6 weeks.

Wow they are long hours but you seem very focused on your goal which is great, and as you said if it doesn't feel like work and just a hobby it must be a lot more entertaining for you. Working such long hours gives you a real sense of achievement as you manage to get so much done. Great post

Those are awfully long hours, but I suppose that breaking them up as you do, not eating lunch and dinner in front of the computer, makes a huge difference.

I try to always get about 7 hours sleep, if I work late then usually I'll get up a bit later too - I have to force myself stop working early now and again too though, don't do that nearly enough :)

Interesting - I've been toying with going freelance (or starting my own company, however you want to label it) later this year, and your schedule is just about how I imagined it. I can't function with less than 7 hours sleep though, so I think I'd have to hussle a bit harder during the day!
