Travel Tip Catcher App

In 2011, following the success of the vtravelled blog, I was commissioned again by Virgin Atlantic Airways – this time to conceptualise and design a brand new touch-screen user interface for Virgin’s new in-flight entertainment system, to be launched on their new fleet of aircraft.

The concept for the application was to allow passengers to share their travel tips about places they’d recently been (or lived), and also to consume the travel tips written by other passengers on both their flight and others. The hardware for the system was developed by Airbus, the software development was completed by Panasonic, and the user interface and user experience design was completed by myself.

This project was featured in The Independent as well as lots of trade press.

John knows how to breathe life into an idea. With The Travel Tip Catcher he created an app that is easy to navigate, gorgeous to look at and that inspires people to contribute. Just what we wanted.
